We are excited to bring the International Society of Applied Cardiovascular Biology (ISACB) Biennial meeting back to Europe in 2018! The meeting will be held at the Palais de la Bourse in the historic downtown of Bordeaux, France from Sunday, September 16 through Wednesday 19, 2018.
The ISACB is devoted to enhancing discovery, development and clinical translation of cutting edge biomedical science for innovative, state of the art cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutics. This is a unique society that brings together the best clinicians, engineers, and scientists from academia and industry with a mix of junior and senior investigators and trainees.
ISACB currently has members throughout North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. This edition of the meeting will be particularly Euro-centric and will bring together the thought leaders from most EU countries.

ISACB is proud to announce that a pre-meeting workshop for young researchers will be held in association with our biennial meeting 2018.
This one-day workshop, which will be held on September 16th 2018, aims at promoting personal development and networking among PhD candidates, postdocs, early-stage researchers and master students in the field of applied cardiovascular biology, with the ultimate goal to spark the creation of a scientific community of young talented researchers, and stimulate vivid and long term European collaborations within the ISACB community. This workshop is an important first step towards the fostering of a European ISACB network.
We are delighted to introduce our lecturers: Prof. dr. Marie José Goumans, from Leiden University Medical Center; Prof. dr. Rafael Kramann from the RWTH, Aachen University; Prof. dr. Caitríona Lally, from the Trinity College Dublin; and Prof. dr. Robert Passier, from the University of Twente. The presentations of these world-renowned speakers will focus on two main topics, titled: “The heart is central: the interplay between heart diseases and other organs’ functionality”; and “Personalized cardiovascular medicine: sense or nonsense?”.
After the morning session featuring the lectures, the attendees will be invited to brainstorm on unmet challenges. This brainstorming session will be facilitated by the invited speakers and other experts in the field of applied cardiovascular biology: Dr. Joshua Hutcheson, from the Florida University; Dr. Cindy St Hilare, from the University of Pittsburg; and Dr. Claudia Goettsch from the RWTH, Aachen University. At the end of the brainstorming session, the attendees will pitch their original ideas in front of a selected jury, who will select the winners of free ISACB memberships and a selection of Bordeaux wines!
Last, but not least, the attendees will join the Wine & Cheese tasting event organized within our ISACB biennial meeting!
Please join and inform your colleagues about this interesting opportunity to network and brainstorm!
More information about the pre-meeting and registration can be found at the following link:

The ISACB meetings are renowned for their friendly and intimate atmospheres that are
particularly suited to develop discussions on scientific issues, new ideas, future collaborations and, most of all, establish new friendships across generations and specialties. To facilitate this process, we propose a fun social program that could only be the beginning (or the end) of a longer stay in this fabulous region: warm welcome reception, a fun afternoon spent exploring the fabulous Saint-Émilion région, an official visit at the historic City Hall, and a beautiful Gala evening in an actual wine-producing châteaux.
Come and join us! 2018 will be a very good year!!
